Plan Your Visit

Here's What You Can Expect

If you’ve never worshipped with us before,

here’s what you should expect…

Here at Norwood Baptist Church, RI, we want to help eliminate those "first-time jitters" by answering some of your questions upfront.

We care about you, not what you’re wearing. We don’t care who you voted for in the last election or how many tattoos you have. We’re a church full of imperfect, broken people who are coming to know Jesus and serving others together, and regardless of your story, we believe you belong!

Some tips:

Nice people. We LOVE it when someone comes for the first time, even on Facebook. But we don’t always recognize first-time guests. So many of the people who come are still relatively new, so feel free to say, “This is my first time,” in the comment box. We will surely give you a "good morning" or "welcome".

Whether you feel confident meeting us in the building or joining us online, please help us get to know you by filling out the Connect card below.

A casual atmosphere. We care about YOU, not what you’re wearing. If you are at home, wear something comfy. If you are in person, feel free to wear jeans.

Our dress code is simple: wear something.

A fun, safe environment for kids! Kids love it here at Norwood! From Sunday School to Worship, we encourage parents to bring their children and let them learn while having fun.

We offer childcare for younger children during worship ( up to six years) and for the older youth, we ask that they attend a portion of the service and then head out with youth leaders to engage in worship/learning geared towards their own age.

Children learning! We understand that some children may not be able to attend in person. Please contact the church office for further information in regards to online materials you can share with your child.

Practical teaching. Sermons will connect the Bible to everyday life. Music is lively and uplifting. During worship don’t be surprised when some people raise their hands as a sign of praise while singing, but don’t feel obligated to do so yourself. We create an atmosphere of freedom in our services.

Life Groups - Sunday School - Discipleship! We also encourage you to participate in one of our adult classes. (click here for all the ways you can get involved in a bible study or life group)

Perfect people: Keep in mind....people are attending, and even leading Norwood Baptist Church RI who are not perfect.

In fact, perfect people are not allowed.

We’re a community of people who don’t have it all together but are discovering what it means to find life in Jesus, to follow him wholeheartedly, to break free from our past, and to walk in victory together.

That’s who we are.

Giving. As a guest, we don't expect you to contribute anything financially. However, if you feel moved to help like the members who call NBCRI home, there is a variety of ways to give. You can volunteer your time in a number of ways or you can financially support NBCRI. If you would like to give online, click here.

Next Moves!

If you have questions about faith, becoming a Christian, or are looking for more information about the church, click here to sign up for a Next Moves. This is where a person new to Norwood can hang out with some pretty cool people over the course of a couple of months. The meetings consist of a weekly DVD which we hope builds upon the foundation you are seeking. We also explore why Norwood does what it does. From life groups to serving others, this is the best place to ask questions or sit back and listen.
